2021 Fall Date Project

The MPOD Caretakers want to present meteorite falls on their fall dates. For example, Sikhote Aline on 12 February.

This Project will not dip into the MPOD archives so the Caretakers will appreciate anything you can contribute.

To reserve a date just let us know. Thank you in advance :)

Find/Fall Anniversary
  H4

TKW 41 kg. Observed fall 20 November 2008, Wilton Rural Municipality, Saskatchewan, Canada.

Murray writes:
I found this particular stone early on in our search of the farmland near Buzzard Coulee in April of 2009. It is a beautifully oriented stone and the one break in its perfection turns out to give the meteorite specimen serious personality. It is about as close as I can get to my "Venus" stone. But Darth it will remain.

I initially was dissapointed that it wasn't a "perfect" oriented meteorite, but then I saw the Darth in it and then it became a special stone.

Buzzard Coulee was a great fall, and I love your specimen. I'm with John Divelbiss: I immediately thought of "Dark Helmet". :-)
