I had a piece of Udei Station on the MPOD in June. Shortly after it appeared I sent it to the Montana Meteorite Laboratory to have it butterflied. The two pieces were polished on one side and etched etched on the other.

The etched side photograph was pretty easy to take (check out the larger version).

The polished side gave me fits, which polished sides usually do. I spent a lot of time with PhotoShop trying to pluck a decent picture out of the clashing pixels but to no avail. So, I made an amusee - photo 2 is an animated GIF of the polished side. Give it a few moments to download (it's about 2.1 megabytes)

This was done playing with the center adjustment of the Adjust Levels in PhotoShop and saving a series of pictures which I converted to an animated GIF via the miracle of the Internet.

Yes, you are amusing yourself! :-)) It reminds me of the framed pallasites that were in my room in Tucson, when you played with the dimmer.
