Excerpt from the MetBul:
Discovered in the vicinity of the village of Markovka, Kluchevskoj district, Altai territory, USSR, in the Spring of 1967 (Meteorite fell probably in autumn of 1966).

The meteorite was plowed up from a depth of 20-30 cm. Tractor drivers broke the meteorite and small pieces have been taken by inhabitants. The larger part of the meteorite was brought in 1967 to a teacher on a pension. He gave the meteorite to a geological party. In 1969 the meteorite was turned over to the Commission on Meteorites of the Sibirian Department of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR.
