Received as a gift from the Mongolian Academy of Sciences in autumn 1996 after my long-time friend Sergey Vassiliev and I took a geology scientist and his son plus two drivers on a two-week trip through Mongolia (south direction from Ulaanbaatar and back) at our expense. Driving through the country without an invitation and without a hired driver was not possible in 1996. The idea of this two-week trip was to find meteorites, but we did not succeed at that time. Anyway, the trip through Mongolia was fun and we had great experiences. |
