2021 Fall Date Project

The MPOD Caretakers want to present meteorite falls on their fall dates. For example, Sikhote Aline on 12 February.

This Project will not dip into the MPOD archives so the Caretakers will appreciate anything you can contribute.

To reserve a date just let us know. Thank you in advance :)

Roberto writes:
This is a new meteorite that was found earlier this year by Todd Parker and Robert Ward in Arizona. Grapevine Mesa (provisional) CBa is made up of about 500g TKW and made its debut at this year's Denver show. I was able to pick up a couple of pieces. This is the largest of the two pieces I purchased. It's a 25.2g end cut.

Fantastic addition to your AZ meteorite collection. Do you know if Todd found it visually, or with detector? Or, was it thrown back down onto the ground and the scrape-pit from where it was dug up by a prospector, thinking it was a piece of slag (like many early Gold Basin stones)?

I should clarify, the discovery of this meteorite was made by Todd Parker, while he and Rob Ward were in Grapevine Mesa.

@KR - it was supposed to have "prov" next to the name but didn't and now it does.
