NWA 14959 has 45% Ni, which is the highest in the recent 160 years, and the 2nd highest among all studied meteorites.
It was purchased from a Moroccan broker. I was initially not quite sure if it’s a meteorite. There isn’t any fusion crust left. The cut face looks like Dronino. My preliminary ICP-MS analysis (Element 2, Thermo) made me more skeptical— it showed over 40% Ni in the sample. The data indicated either a high Ni man-made material (e.g. Lovina) or something extraordinary. Finally, Prof. Chris Herd confirmed that this iron possesses inclusions consistent with meteorites. It has troilite and schreibersite, and even a little bit of kamacite in places!
