103 grams and 10 grams.   Impactite

Found in the area of the red marker below.

Matthias writes:
Libyan Desert Glass Great Sand Sea, western Egypt/eastern Libya.

In addition to the 3 small LDG neolithic tools, published as an MPOD Classic for 26 November 2021, and to the 3 bigger neolithic tools, published as MPOD for 27 November 2021, I am pleased to present in addition 2 quite rare, elegantly shaped prehistoric artifacts, made of "solidified sunlight":

Photos 1 & 2 - Bifacial blade culminating in a pretty sharp point, 103 g, 104 x 54 x 42 mm

Photos 3 & 4 - Arrowhead 10 g, 48 x 23 x 11 mm (2 pics)
It is especially fascinating to see how human interest in this extraordinary matter continues through time. The LDG was formed into tools (blades, scrapers, arrowheads, spearheads etc.) in the neolithc period c. 6-10,000 years ago, and it adorns as a centerpiece, formed as a scarab, King Tut anch Amun's (14th century b.c.) legendary necklace.

Me too, Mark. But I was told that this region is quite dangerous to visit. And the deposit of LDG seems almost finished.

thank you, john. the lipping, well, difficult to say. but your question is really interesting.i have other samples of ldg in my collection which, i think, show clear features of orientation such as roll over lipping (not beethoven :-). same with regmaglypts. i have never found a text describing and comparing these phenomenons for ldg. so, if anyone nows any text in this regard - advice would be highly welcome.
