372 grams. unclassified
Simon writes:
Unclassified NWA, bought from a reputable source about a year ago. I think part of the appeal of having some unclassifieds is that it allows you to get your hands on a few aesthetic marvels at very reasonable prices. I was struck by the elegance of offering a quarter-rock piece, thereby offering a significant section of fusion crust as well as two internal cross-sections – clearly it’s quite iron-rich. The specimen is very heavily-weathered, and features some unusual colouration – deep reds and oranges as well as blackened crust. It sits on my desk as a paperweight and conversation-starter.
