This beautiful meteorite was found in Morocco in 2001. No
coordinates were reported. This is reported to come from near the village of Taza, Morocco.
The Taza meteorite is officially known as NWA 859 and is a nickel iron meteorite classified as a Plessitic Octahedrite, Ungrouped. It was found in Morocco in 2001.
Description from Meteoritical Bulletin 86, Table 6 Note 7:
Ni 15.93%, Co 1.31%, Cu 296 ppm, Ga 87 ppm, Ge 2200 ppm, As 54 ppm, W 6.8 ppm, Ir 2.54 ppm, Pt 37.7 ppm, Au 6.52 ppm.
This specimen is currently on display at the University Museum of Meteorites (Morocco).
