Iron, IIAB
Lots of Buchwald references here and lots of alternate names.

Hexahedrite. Cut from ASU specimen #387.1
Mass of 19kg found before 1931 in Antofagasta province, Chile, sold by the finder to the Smithsonian. Examined by Nininger (1939), Wasson (1968) and later Buchwald who concluded it is similar to other hexahedrites found in North Chile.

Thank you John and Graham. This is one of the group of Hexahedrites found in northern Chile, they were found far from each other and over many years, so they were classified and named individually, and it took quite a while to realize that they were all fragments of the same meteorite. |
