122.32 gram end-cut. L/LL3-6 Chondrite.
André writes:
I bought the meteorite, a single stone of 322.3g, in Ensisheim (France) in 2010. Based on the classification of Dr. Ansgar Greshake of the Museum of Natural History in Berlin, this meteorite is an ordinary
chondrite of type L/LL3-6, S1, W2, Fa mol% 0.2-40.5, Fs mol% 1.1-22.4.
I called this meteorite the "bloody stone" because of the intense red color of the water, like blood, during the cutting process.

Very attractive matrix in the stone. Just curious, what is the terrestrial age of this meteorite?
Thanks, Ben |

This is a very interesting material!
I've made some thin sections of this chondrite.
And the variety of chondrules is simply beautiful.
Thank you Andr* and Paul for this Picture of the Day.
Best regards Mirko |
