This nice piece of dark Libyan Desert Glass came in a lot purchased in 2010. Just the best example I've ever seen and will never leave my collection. Travels from time to time for educational purposes. The black color to the eye becomes a dark green when back lit.

The dark green color is probably due to the presence of Fe2+ and possibly also Mn and nickel. A really interesting piece of LDG. Thanks for sharing!
