Thanks Bernd...sounds right to me. It is "silvery" looking, so it is likely a spread of fine-grained iron-nickel. Cool how it passes through the face of the large hypersthene crystal in photo 3. I made sure it was polished before the photo was taken to be sure the metal wasn't spread on to the crystal...during the cutting, by others.

John, if it is troilite, it should be bronze-colored or brass-colored!

Curious if anyone can identify the fine grained metal in the cut face, running vertically in the middle of photo 3 and on the left of photo 4 ? Troilite or FE-Ni ??
