I see now that during the recent "Great North American Eclipse" many of us had the same ideas regarding the use of meteorites. I was going to make it into a meteorite list competition but that fizzled as the time got away on me.

Here are my attempts at viewing the eclipse shadow through a tuna strainer projecting onto three meteorites 1) Bluewing individual, 2) Sikohte-Alin, and 3) large slice of Gibeon with Thomson / Widmanstätten lines.

I toyed with the idea of using LDG and Moldavites as color filters in front of the strainer for a more colourful photo. Maybe next time....?

 9/25/2017 5:46:42 PM		 Brilliant Paul! I LOVE it!! Being an astronomer, meteoriticist, and eclipse chaser, this one made my day. The August 21, 2017 eclipse was the 19th total solar eclipse I have seen.

 9/23/2017 8:14:21 AM		 Thanks everyone. The Bluewing is complete and was found by me as was the Bluewing strewnfield. Have at least 4 different types of stony meteorite from that location and one beautiful Eucrite named BlueWing 001 Matson and my Father Nick have also found nice individuals there but I have the Lions Share including the main mass the size of a rugby ball.
