Anne, I know your story and I'm glad you stated it here for those who don't know how you entered the arena for all things meteorites by helping a friend write about his passion. |

Alain's "pseudo-english"? :-))) That is why I started to work with him in the late 80s during the Denver Show, so I could translate. Then later I translate some articles he had written for Meteorite Magazine, then I helped him in Tucson, then I started IMPACTIKA on my own, then.......... the rest is history. |

some of my most favorite meteorite talks were brief but fun ones with Alain at a few shows. His pseudo-English made it fun, my nothing-like-French would NOT have. :/ |

Yes, Anne, just like Zagora. I got my 15.5 gr Zagora etched endpiece from Walter Zeitschel in 1988! |

Yes, John, one of the very early ones, just like Zagora. At that time Alain Carion was going to Morocco quite often to buy minerals and fossils, and then one day that merchant in the souks of Rissani showed him a black rock and asked him what it was. Of course Alain Carion knew immediately that it was a meteorite and went on to explain what meteorites were, how to recognize them. And you know the rest of the story. |
