Nice piece Mike! Regarding the color, I have a similar looking 877 gram piece I picked up in Tucson in 2006. It was explained to me that the color was because some of this glass actually contained pulverized meteorite (mine additionally has an almost black dark streak down the center, which may be what they were talking about). I'm not sure if this is the real explanation, but I thought I'd pass it on for what it's worth.
