92.7 gram shrapnel.
Mendy writes:
I love sculptural pieces and this specimen of Sikhote Alin shrapnel is one of my favorites. Photoshop was not used to process the image (all natural light) other than adding the eagle next to the American flag. The flag image came from NASA (Astronaut Eugene Cernan and the U.S. Flag -- Apollo 17 on the Moon). Since this is, in fact, a Russian Eagle, perhaps we can think of this as one small step for man - one giant leap for meteoritic détente.
Special thanks to Jason Utas for inspiring me to submit this specimen for the July 4th MPOD.
