TKW 320 kg. Observed fall 10 May 1879, in Emmet County, Iowa.



Anne writes:
Hundreds of "nuggets" and 2 large masses (68.5kg and 56.7kg) were found. The 68.5kg was later lost.

Green crystals of olivine are occasionally found in slices of Estherville.

Love this Meso. I had a couple of nuggets years ago. Wish I would have kept one.

If someone has an Estherville iron nugget/nodule to sell, let me know. This is a great fall and great meteorite.

Glad you like it Graham. Thank you Paul for noticing. In fact there are many more olivines in this slice, there is a big one in the lower right area, just above a large etched metal blob.

It looks like there is at least one olivine in this specimen, near the top edge above the left side of the large oval metal blob.

I love the metal throughout and the matrix is an interesting mix. Great piece Anne:)
