Acquired by Luc Labenne in 2011.

Thin section in plane polarized and cross-polarized light. This angrite has a striking quench texture. In plane polarized light the clear mineral is plagioclase and the pink mineral is pyroxene colored by titanium. Minor olivine is included in the pyroxene.

Field of view is 4.2mm wide.

here is a picture from unknown material in thin section, a microprobe was done and was said to contain iron-nickel metal and kirschsteinite and hedenbergite minerals. how do i submit the image for you to look at?

Thank you, glad you like it. And yes it is amazing, it looks like feathers. But what surprised me is that there is not the slightest similarity with the other Angrites, D'Orbigny for instance. It is unique.
