We've got a stunning Sutter's Mill specimen that we found that is like no other! It ... has an incredible melt ring showing orientation. Keith found this stone on May 27th, 2012.

the leading face "centering" of the crust in Pic #1 is really interesting. Usually such crusting reaches the edge of the entire face...but this only went part way. Was it a low elevation breakup and/or high velocity?? That is one possible reason for the limiting of the crust edging I suppose...not enough time to form fully to the edge.... ??
