Tan writes:
A mass of 4.74 kg was observed to fall on April 7, 1904, at 6:35 a.m. near the village of Okano. It was recovered immediately from an 80 cm deep hole in clay, with the overall dimensions 18*12*7 cm. In March 2021, a monument was erected at the location where the Okano meteorite fell. In addition, the Okano meteorite has a mascot image and is used for science education in local primary schools.

The main mass of Okano is in the Kyoto University Museum.
