My NWA 904 (L3-6) meteorite portrait in a 3" x 5" riker box. These part slices including 65 and 48 gram mirror cuts and a 24 gram "jaw" were cut from a larger fragment of this meteorite purchased from the Hupes' in the early 2000's.. Recently (MPOD 8/17/2018) Bernd shared photos of this meteorite and commented on NWA 904 maybe unique to NWA 869 and others. This portrait does suggest there maybe something odd about it …ear rings and all. :)

Cute picture. Clearly a complicated breccia (looks like L3-6). How did it get classified as L5? Some big patches of metal suggest there's been some shock melt. The dark "eyes" could be a) lower type (dark matrix); b) C-chondrite clast (although it looks like too much metal to me); c) shock blackened clast; d) aqueously altered clast (wouldn't expect that much metal). Can't tell without a thin section.
