Elongated drop, fine condition. 30 grams. 76 x 32 x 15 mm.   Impactite

Matthias writes:
Moldavite, Bohemia (exact location unknown)

Impact glass produced by the Noerdlinger Ries Event 15 million years ago. The force of the impact transported the ejecta between 250 and 450 km eastwards. The finely textured surface was formed over million of years by erosion through water. Moldavites are the only tektites of approved gem quality.

Yes, John, teardrop-shaped moldavites are not extremely rare. Nice one, Andi, thanks for sharing. By the way, excellent photography (lighting)!

is there such a thing as a teardrop Moldavite?...why not, this looks to be close such a description. Very nice specimen.
