What is a thin section?       What do all the colors mean?    
Thin section in cross-polarized light.   Eucrite

TKW 520 grams. Fall not observed. Purchased April 2011.

Field of view 20 x 30 mm.

From the MetBul:
Large clasts of medium-grained, ophitic-textured eucrite within a matrix of recrystallized eucrite minerals (mostly exsolved pigeonite and calcic plagioclase) exhibiting polygonal grain boundaries.
