The internal structure that makes Tambo Quemado so unusual is the result of warming - probably the result of an attempt by natives to melt the meteorite for its iron.

Tambo Quemado is full of surprises: troilite, schreibersite, silicate-related inclusions, etc. What's that large, dark area?

Anne...nice specimen of an outstanding iron. I'm generally not a collector of irons, but this is one meteorite I targeted years ago and now I do have a nice slice of T.Q.
