Incredible meteorite. It's not only the worldclass orientation grooves. It's the absolutely fresh crust, the contraction cracks, the perfect nose cone shape. And above all it's the fact that obviously you found in yourself in the hot desert, Jan. Congratulation!

If there was to be a vote for Meteorite Picture of the Year (and maybe that would be a fun thing to do), this one would be my hands-down favorite.

ABSOLUTLEY STUNNING!!!!!!!! heart stopping congratulations If you need to analyze it take a core smaple out of the back side and cut off the crust on the top of the cylinder once obtained then you can recap it with little indication it was ever cut. I have done this successfully with oriented meteorites I have found and didn't want to cut.
