TKW ~100 kg. Fall not observed. Found 2002 in Mojave County, Arizona, USA.

Jason writes:
On November 2, 2018, Jason Snyder found an 823 gr. (1.8lbs) Franconia chondrite, nestled up under a bush in the strewn field while meteorite hunting. To complement his big find, he also found 24 irons from what is commonly called “Iron Alley”. Most of the irons are sub-gram, with one showing exceptional regmaglypts and character. Total weight of the irons is 12 gr.

Many good hunting memories at Franconia. And I too saw one that Larry Sloane found which had metal "teeth" sticking out of the stone meteorite, as I recall..it was sitting in the back of his truck when I first saw it. His may have been given another name as I am sure others may remember. If I find my photo of it I will send it in to Paul.

Yes Graham, I've seen sheets of metal running through many of them, as well as a few large chunks 'iceburging'.

These irons from the Franconia field are intriguing....has anyone found large iron inclusions in any stony franconia samples that have been cut to show thats where they came from?
