What is a thin section?       What do all the colors mean?

TKW 380 grams. Fall not observed. Found 25 March 2017, Antofagasta, Chile.

My first carbonaceous chondrite find. The search was made on foot. The degree of oxidation is not high. The meteorite was divided into several fragments.

thanks, and I did see it has a brown crust, so it must have been an obvious meteorite in situ. Congrats again.

This meteorite was located in a washing section of the desert, and was divided into several fragments. I immediately realized that this is not an ordinary chondrite.

Timur, congrats for the CO find. Was it easy to see that it could be a meteorite at first glance in situ?
