46.2 grams. CM2
TKW 100 kg. Observed fall 28 September 1969, near Near Murchison, Victoria, Australia.
Pierre-Marie writes:
On Sunday, september 28, 1969 at 10:58, a meteor shower hit the small town of Murchison, about 80 km north of Melbourne, Australia. The meteor fragmented into hundreds of small pieces which fell around Murchison ; the biggest weighed 7 kilograms. Most specimens were collected by residents of the place and also by a team of students from the University of Melbourne, led by JF Lovering.
I purchased this stone from Matthew Martin.

Very nice stone, Pierre-Marie! Murchison is one of my favorites because of all the things we've learned from it. A very nice example indeed! |

It looks like someone picked it up very soon after it's arrival. Agorgeous looking stone, and I'd agree with Doug, it looks well oriented. Thanks for the post! |

The year of the Carbonaceous - 1969! Fantastic specimen seems to display orientation to me, as well as an interesting flight-textured crust Thanks for this organic treat Pierre-Marie! |
