25.9 gram broken stone.   H4

TKW 41 kg. Observed fall 20 November 2008, Wilton Rural Municipality, Saskatchewan, Canada.

Murray writes:
I had saved this broken specimen because it had a nice flat face that I could grind down and polish as a very nice end piece. I checked it under a microscope and discovered that it had a big metal inclusion. Well, all thought of grinding that face off it was quickly tossed. The specimen has a 4 mm long metallic inclusion in it. From its golden color I thought that it was an iron sulphide, but a conductivity test showed that it gave a 100 ohm resistance when tested with two pins and my Fluke digital meter along the inclusions long axis. The metallic inclusion does not appear to be rusted so I am not sure of its makeup. While examining the stone under the microscope I find myself amazed at the chondrules in this meteorite. They range from large, 2.5mm, to 50 microns in size.

It was great hunting with Murray for Buzzard meteorites. I think that Blizzard could be an alternative name.
