26 grams.   H4

TKW 24.5 kg. Fall not observed. Found Winter 1971, approximately 6 km southwest of Salaices, Chihuahua, Mexico.

From the MetBul:
A Mexican farmer found the complete stone in his field in the winter of 1971. It was shown to Mr. David Lange along with Allende, Mexico, meteorite specimens on April 9, 1971 while he was visiting the area to purchase Allende specimens.

Anne writes:
I acquired this as part of a group of meteorites from an old collection being sold out. There was no Id card with it but the seller did provide the complete list of all the meteorites in that collection. Many had been acquired from Robert Haag but a few were listed as having been acquired in 1983 from SciencesGraphics - a name I certainly know.

A phone call to Dorothy Norton-Kashuba confirmed it; yes in the 1980s Richard and Dorothy were selling meteorites. She then managed to locate a few old catalogs and she was even kind enough to recreate the labels that would have come with those specimens. Thank you Dorothy.

Thank you Bernd and Twink. Yes, it was found within the Allende strewnfield by people looking for pieces of Allende. And personally I like to know that it was also studied by none other than Richard Norton.

So interesting to hear the history of the pieces having been found then seeing where they end up on their journey of collectors.
