the sticker residue idea came to me after I wrote that note. I have removed those before. I did look harder at the area and it does have structure, but seems to more linear (one direction of crystals) than the rest of the piece. |

That looks like the stain left by the glue on the back of a label. :-( |

John - as I recall, the piece could use a refinishing. I remember think, when I was there, that the circular feature looks like a stain. |

the large undefined structure in the upper right hand corner is interesting. Is that a round nodule in the middle of that area...it is not troilite though from appearance? |
