480 gram individual.   Iron, ungrouped

TKW estimated to be 25 - 30 kg. Fall not observed. Found 2019 by Lukas and Magdalena Smula, Antofagasta, Chile.

Matthias writes:
Iron meteorite, ungrouped (with no similarity to any other ungrouped iron).

Found 2019 by Lukas and Magdalena Smula. All pieces were found on only a few square meters. Quite unusual.

TKW estimated 25-30 kg - a few middle sized individuals and many small pieces were close to the main mass (18 kg).

Dramatically intersected individual 480 g - short before breaking apart during atmospheric passage - with densely crowded fine regmaglypts and beautiful reddish-dark Atacama desert patina.

Updating weights for TKW is apparently double-edged...we all agree it would be good to be done. But the finders may or may not have to spend $ and go through the/a classifier, who likely finds this "step" to update TKW to be a pain in the butt. And it a maybe a tough call on how to legitimize the request with NomCOM.

Don't no the reason for the differing TKWs, Anne, but I got the info directly from the finders Lukasz and Magdalena Smula. The main mass alone is 18 kg, followed by a few masses > and * 1 kg, and a bigger number of small pieces. All found on only a very few m2, densely together. Seems really unusual to me. Not at least: hello, Laurent :- )

Curiously the Met.Bulletin says total weight: 173g. More pieces found later? But it is certainly very interesting Matthias, odd surface texture. Also, did you notice on the second picture taken during the Ensisheim Show, all the way on the left side? that's Laurent Jaworsky, the boss of MeteorPassion and the French Forum.

Well, I think there must be a few more pieces resting in cabinets, Andi ...
