A thin section of NWA 3189 in xpol. light by Solar Anamnesis was the 9/23/18 MPOD.

Now, here is the meteorite, a 4.1 gr slice of NWA 3189. I got this slice from Carsten Giessler on April 2, 2006. When I asked him about the status of this meteorite, he wrote: "The meteorite was classified by Ted Bunch some time ago but it hasn't been published in the MetBull. yet."

I don't know why it is still provisional. Ted called it an LL3.2-3.4 (polymict breccia) and said that NWA 3189 was a very unsual meteorite that consisted of clasts of low subtype.

Beautiful chondrite Bernd...too many superb NWA meteorites have been sold with the understanding that they were primo stones to be classified!.Many were $costly per gram, and now they are beautiful officially-Unclassified NWA specimens that to date have languished for years without their "final" approval. I wish the folks involved with the $selling/classification w/thin sections & samples/and I'd hope caring submitters of these stones would follow through and finish the damn job!! Like it is supposed to be. :(
