419 gram individual.   Unclassified

Roberto writes:
On September 26th, 2022, at 12:04 am a fireball was spotted over Georgia and caught on Allsky Cams. Ed Albin, Pat Branch and Carl Dietrich headed to Junction City after reviewing radar data. On September 27th, Pat Branch and others began finding stones.

One of the first stones, found by Pat Branch, was this 419g individual (current main mass). This piece has beautiful staining from where it impacted the soft Georgia grass and soil. Mark Lyon and I purchased this stone from Pat Branch and it is currently being offered to private collectors and institutions.

The last picture is of my personal find of this fall, a 24.7g individual, found on September 28th.

Exactly right John. Permission must always be asked for, and I'm happy to update copyright notices - just send an email. Cheers.

Awesome specimen and congrats to all involved. And Ken...I don't do "copyright" on this site either (some are worthy), but I am certain I will use my photos that are used on this site whenever I want. No offense meant to Paul either. I think the logic is you have to ask MPOD to use them instead of the original photographer who asks for Copyright with the photo.

Great, absolutely great, Roberto. You are lucky with three recent US meteorite falls in 2022. I hope, the next fall will happen in Switzerland :-)
