See below.   Impactite

Suzanne writes:
These are all different Wabar impactites (as requested). I've acquired a significant collection of the material and have had the pleasure of being able to inspect many different types (if you will) of the impactite; from splash droplets, to "insta-rock", to mixtures of the two, and more. Each piece is fascinating.

Photo 1 is a piece of "insta-rock" with a frame of black splash material. Something I found interesting is the composition of the different materials produced during the impact. The black splash material was analyzed to have around (up to) 10% meteoritic material, while the white insta-rock has none.

Photo 2 is black splash material. It is a small piece, but intriguing as you can see the 'tail' of the molten material folded over and adhered to the large main surface.

Photo 3 is an unusual grey-ish color. This piece looks like strings of molten material frozen in time.

There are more photos at different angles on my web site. Thanks for looking.
