26.5 grams. Iron, IIG
TKW 13.1 kg. Fall not observed. Found 2000, Antofagasta, Chile.
Bernd writes:
So far there are only six irons that belong to this group: Auburn, Bellsbank, Guanaco, La Primitiva, Tombigbee River, and Twannberg. According to J.T. Wasson, Guanaco and La Primitiva are closely related but sufficiently different and should therefore be considered two different Chilean irons.
My 26.5 gr part slice of Guanaco features a massive schreibersite inclusion and countless, narrow-spaced Neumann lines. |

I am not sure Andi. Is it a heat affected zone or just the picture. Irons can be so hard to get good clear pictures of. |

I think there is even a heat affected zone on the rim at the right side, isn*t it? |

Rare piece, Bernd, with interestig details. Never seen Guanaco before. So thanks for the premiere. |
