Thanks Bernd...sounds right to me. It is "silvery" looking, so it is likely a spread of fine-grained iron-nickel. Cool how it passes through the face of the large hypersthene crystal in photo 3. I made sure it was polished before the photo was taken to be sure the metal wasn't spread on to the crystal...during the cutting, by others. |

John, if it is troilite, it should be bronze-colored or brass-colored! |

Curious if anyone can identify the fine grained metal in the cut face, running vertically in the middle of photo 3 and on the left of photo 4 ? Troilite or FE-Ni ?? |
