Simon writes:
This is a very small section of the Type Specimen acquired from a fellow member in June 2016. At 0.95g, and measuring just 1cm x 1.5cm (approx.), it’s quite a difficult one to photograph, at least without a proper macro lens – hence the rather patchy quality of my submission. The strong green of the Post-It note seems to help with focus. I think it’s fascinating how the metal and matrix seem to have an ‘oil and water’ effect that I haven’t seen in any other type of meteorite, and a difficult box in the collection has been ticked.
