2021 Fall Date Project

The MPOD Caretakers want to present meteorite falls on their fall dates. For example, Sikhote Aline on 12 February.

This Project will not dip into the MPOD archives so the Caretakers will appreciate anything you can contribute.

To reserve a date just let us know. Thank you in advance :)

16.6 grams. 8.3 x 2.0 x 1.1 cm.   Impactite

Moldavite information here and Ries Crater info here

Bernd writes:
A moldavite from Vrábče-Nová Hospoda in Bohemia, Czech Republic. Depending on your perspective, it may resemble a dumbbell, a dragon-fly, or a bow tie. Moldavites originated when a cosmic projectile collided with the Earth about 15 Mio. years ago and excavated the Ries Basin in Southern Germany.

Cool color! I have been looking for someone knowledgable on Guangdong impactites. I found a couple in a shop that previously came from a Tucson show but am having a difficult time getting confirmation on what I think they are. Anyone know of someone who might could say yay or nay on them?
