363.3 grams. 89 x 54 x 48 mm. H6
TKW 629 grams. Fall not observed. Found 1987, El Carmen, Chihuahua, Mexico.
Jürgen / jnmczurich writes:
El Carmen is a single, slightly oriented mass with a weight of 629 g (before cutting). It was found two kms NW of El Carmen, Chihuahua, Mexico, during a search for meteorites within the Allende strewn field in 1987. El Carmen has a light/dark brecciated structure and is classified as a H6 chondrite. According to the thin section, cut from a small partial slice, it looks more like a H4 or H5 chondrite (best guess), maybe a H4-6 chondrite?
Playing with light, the high number of metal specs or the light/dark structure can be seen on the picture 1 and 2.
The close-up view is about 8 x 6 mm
Thin section pictures taken with cross polarized filter.
