What is a thin section?       What do all the colors mean?
Thin section between crossed polarizers.   Martian (chassignite)

TKW 611 grams. Fall not observed. Found 2000 in Morocco.

Don't miss the zoomable hi-res picture on Flicker.

Solar writes:

These shock-darkened olivines attest to Diderot's violent past. Thanks for sharing this dunite!
