45.4 grams.   Pallasite, PMG

TKW 920 kg. Observed fall: no. Found 1822 in the Atacama Desert of Chile.

John writes:
This individual was purchased from the finder, Michael Cottingham, who along with Steve Arnold and Geoff Notkin were in the Atacama Desert in 1997. I showed it to Geoff in 2003 and he confirmed this was a find from that trip. In 17 years of collecting meteorites this is one of the few nice individuals in this size I recall seeing for sale. The ripped appearance of the ends of this individual look almost shrapnel-like. It also has evidence of curling on the bottom that suggests it is oriented.

The awesome desert weathering/coating/cementing of Imilacs makes their individuals and skeletons such cool other-worldly sculptures! Thanks John!
