Very nice specimen, Anne! The story surrounding the fall and recovery efforts is one of the best ever. I had a blast while there, even though we were 'encouraged' to leave early by local 'officials' that were harassing everyone and trying to shake us down. Beautiful place, Beautiful people!

Yes Doug, I was also told that the Museum of Rio and Elizabeth Zucolotto are handling the classification, but at least we know that it is a real chondrite. Glad you like this one.

Nice stone Anne! Congrats and thanks for the wonderful submission! I've been waiting for the fall to get its name and classification approved before sending Paul one of my pristine specimens. This fall is a very attractive breccia. It is supposed to have been submitted by a Brasilian classification group but so far the Met Bulletin has kept me hanging ;-)
