Photos by Karen Rohr.
4.88 grams.   Diogenite

TKW 12 kg. Observed fall 1931, in Tatawin, Tunisia.

Linton writes:
I don’t know if I’ve got a single drop of Irish blood in me, but I’m always happy to help celebrate St. Paddy’s Day. In lieu of wearing green, I’ll send along the green meteorite, Tatahouine. This 4.88g fragment is my share of the Tunisian diogenite , which fell in 1931. I’ll raise a pint of Guinness to it a bit later. Cheers!

Aye, I be Irish, and I here say that this be a great piece of Irish celebrations my good man! Surely a hearty and well earned piece if I do say so me-self. Cheers lads, and God Bless you all today on this fine occasion :)

Couldn't have picked a better meteorite for the day! Dr. Lincoln LaPaz is perhaps now most famous for his study of a still unexplained green fireball type in the SW, and criticism of Project Twinkle, the first fireball detection network (that helped establish UFO-mania).
