NWA 2676 was a small meteorite, so that would be a very big nodule for such a small meteorite. Glad you like it. |

Bernd, this slice appears to be from an iron nodule. The classification states that the metal : silicate ratio is about 50:50 by volume. I'm guessing that this specimen was part of a much larger mass and that an iron nodule with surrounding silicates broke away either before or during entry into the atmosphere. |

FeNi-metal is predominant and silicates seem to play a minor role - at least in this slice ... very interesting! Thanks for sharing, Anne! |
