678 grams. 11 x 9 x 5 cm.   Pallasite, PMG

TKW 323.3 kg. Fall not observed. Found June 1967, in Magadanskaya oblast', Russia.

Matthias writes:
Beautifully sculpted shape revealing both, the iron grid as well as the enclosed olivine crystals, weathered at the surface.

Sometimes it's tempting to only imagine the beauty of crystals, hidden inside.

Wonderful specimen. And as you say, picturing in one's mind the gems within is an appealing homage to nature, made possible only by the countless specimens we have put to the saw in the past. I'm with you, that many a natural wonder is best appreciated via the uncertainties of the imagination. Quite a hunk!
