Probable CV3 carbonaceous chondrite. Found summer of 2016, Algeria. TKW is about 300 gr.

I purchased lot of probable CV3 chondrites (based on the preliminary images from the seller) from Morocco. Originally they were purchased in August of 2016 from Mauritania but they were found in Algeria in 2016 by nomads, close to the city of Tindouf. They are mostly fragments with weathered and interesting surfaces, with CAI-like white spots. I loved them at first sight. When I received them I cut a few pieces and I saw CAI-s, big chondrules and very nice structure, like a normal CV3. They are look-a-likes to NWA 7690 CV3. Maybe they are paired.

I have made 6 Thin Sections with a Thin Section machine that I designed and built. The machine is working very fine and fast. Usually I am finishing my Thin Sections in steps of 1.5, 1, and 0.5 micron diamond paste. My uncovered Thin Sections are just right for a microprobe.

Just look at the very nice barred-olivine chondrules in the images (one of them in reflected light, too). They are really text-book images.

Thanks Zsolt for sharing the great job you're doing with us in making thin sections. ZK-9 is looking fine in the different aspects and contrasts! Congrats!
