Since I live in a climate that receives the brunt of the 4 seasons - cold, wet, damp, freezing and thawing - many would say it's not the best environment to hunt meteorites, which is true in many respects. So when I'm not outside hunting like a hyperactive bloodhound searching for truffles , I let technology and my finger tips take over the hunt like some, or most, of us and scour through eBay. To top it off I'm a sucker for unclassifieds because there are magnificent specimens to be had that won't burn a hole in the seat of your pants if you search hard enough. That's how I found this one with its beautiful pastel red desert patina with hues of orange, yellow, and dark brown smudged together. Ripples and melted flow waves still appear very pronounced on most of the exterior with the addition of a couple micro impacts, a couple of shock veins, and under magnification I was able to clearly see a nice 3mm barred olivine chondrule. This stone makes my happy , but I'm easy.
