310 grams.   unclassified

Stephen writes:
This is a beautiful 310gm ordinary chondrite. The colors, the iron specks shining through in many areas ,the patches of dark fusion crust on the bottom side, the odd shape it has acquired all come together to make this a great hand specimen with lots of character. When people see this picture specifically they tend to question it's origins and wonder whether it should be handled with gloves or not. Maybe this one qualifies for ugly meteorites POTD, but in the end to me it is still a extraordinary, and beautiful cabinet specimen.
